Cosmo, 2024
Cosmo series questions the intersection of imagination and the concept of space. Without depicting any physical space on paper, the concepts of "space-place" are explored. Figures depicted with a vibrant color palette of red, yellow, and pink, and using oil pastels on white paper, symbolize the imagined world in the artist's mind, existing without a physical space on Earth. Through this series, a space is created for these figures. Space emerges as a condition for the existence and knowledge of objects in this world. These imaginary figures, the subject of the space, form a central axis, and by surrounding this axis, a space is created. The figures depicted in the paintings now exist in a space that allows them to carry out their actions. The exhibition challenges traditional notions of space and ownership, emphasizing the idea that everyone deserves a place of their own. The artist invites the viewers to interact with the physical presence of these imaginary beings by placing these figures on the gallery wall. The combination of real geometric spaces and the perceptual ambiguity of the figures in "Cosmo" creates a visual dialogue between the concrete and the abstract, encouraging the viewers to question their own understanding of place, identity, and belonging. This series aims to emphasize the importance of creating spaces where all individuals can exist freely and authentically.
